FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Are your courses HSE approved?

HSE stopped approving first aid training providers in 2013. Employers now choose a competent provider themselves, which HSE calls due diligence. We can send you our instructor qualifications, quality assurance and insurance details so you can check us properly.

Which course does my workplace need?

It depends on your first aid needs assessment: the hazards on site, how many people work there and how far you are from emergency help. Lower-risk workplaces often choose Emergency First Aid at Work; higher-risk sites usually need First Aid at Work. Call us and we will help you work it out.

Can you train our staff at our premises?

Yes. Most of our courses run on-site across Nottingham and the East Midlands. We bring the manikins, defibrillator trainers and materials. You provide a room with space to practise.

How many people can attend one course?

Up to 12 learners for the certificated courses, so everyone gets enough hands-on practice. CPR & AED sessions can take a few more.

I am not booking for a company. Can I join a course on my own?

Yes. Register your interest for an open course and we will contact you with the next available dates in Nottingham.

How long does a certificate last?

Workplace and paediatric first aid certificates are typically valid for three years. Annual refreshers are recommended to keep skills sharp in between.
